For the parting off of shaft, the customer had been using 2mm wide inserts.
Tungaloy proposed using DuoJustcut’s 1.5mm wide inserts for this process. Despite being thin, DuoJustCut, with its high insert rigidity, achieved stable parting off and extended tool life by 1.3 times.
Additionally, the reduced insert width led to a decrease in the annual usage of bar material, resulting in an annual material cost savings of $10,000.
