The customer requested an extension of tool life. For their automated production line, they needed a tool life of up to 500 pcs/edge, similar to other tools.
Without changing the cutting conditions, testing the combination of TM breaker and NS9530 resulted in stable machining at 500 pcs/edge, 1.7 times longer tool life than competitor's CVD grades.
NS9530 demonstrated excellent wear resistance, leading to a successful replace from CVD grades.
