TungMeister – Bracket – AH725
IMPROVED TOOL LIFE & PRODUCTIVITY
An HSS head-exchangeable chamfering tool had been used for peripheral chamfering of a mechanical bracket.
To extend tool life and improve machining efficiency, a TungMeister VCA chamfering head was tested.
While the conventional tool had two cutting edges, the VCA head features a multi-edge design with four cutting edges, allowing a higher feed per revolution.
In addition, changing the cutting tool material from HSS to solid carbide enabled the cutting speed to be increased by a factor of two.
As a result, machining efficiency was improved by 8.4 times and tool life was extended by five times, achieving a significant improvement in this process
