MillQuadFeed09 – Ball joint – Z type inserts
IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY
In the current mass production process, a turning tool was being used, but due to low machining efficiency, an improvement was requested. We proposed the MillQuadFeed for high-efficiency machining using the milling spindle of the multi-tasking machine. To accommodate the upward-sloped geometry in the cutout area, Z-type inserts were selected and tested on the actual machine. Chatter that had occurred with the competitor’s tool was eliminated, enabling stable and high-efficiency machining, which led to improved productivity.
