MiniV-LockGroove – shaft – SH7025
IMPROVE TOOL LIFE
In parting-off of S45C shafts using a CNC lathe, the previous tool experienced premature chipping and unstable tool life, especially under low frequency vibration conditions for chip evacuation.
By switching to Tungaloy’s MiniV-LockGroove system with SH7025 grade inserts—featuring a highly secure V-shaped insert pocket and a coating optimized for wear and fracture resistance—stable machining was achieved with consistently superior surface quality.
As a result, tool life was doubled, with the number of parts machined per edge increasing from 250 to 500 compared to the conventional solution.
