IMPROVE TOOL LIFE

While externally grooving SUS303 nozzles on a CNC lathe, the previous tool provided insufficient tool life, leading to frequent insert changes and increased downtime. By switching to Tungaloy’s DuoJust-Cut, featuring an innovative rigid insert clamping system and the SH7025 PVD grade optimized for stainless steel, the customer achieved both stable operation and extended edge sharpness.
As a result, tool life was dramatically improved, with parts machined per cutting edge increasing from 500 to 2000—a fourfold increase—thus significantly reducing tool change frequency and boosting overall efficiency.
