DrillMeister -Tube sheet – DMM head
IMPROVE TOOL LIFE and PRODUCTIVITY
This case involves drilling holes in a tube sheet, a component used in heat exchangers.
Machining was performed with a 28% higher productivity compared to the previous tool, ultimately achieving twice the tool life.
Because the material was low-carbon steel, it was challenging to control chip evacuation and optimize cutting efficiency, which also affected tool life.
The newly introduced DMM head, designed for stainless-steel applications, features a unique gash geometry that enables stable chip evacuation even low carbon steels.
In addition, it is coated with AH9130, which offers excellent wear resistance and provides superior cutting-edge durability.
