IMPROVE TOOL LIFE
In parting-off operations on a CNC lathe using 1.4301 stainless steel, tool life was a key challenge with the previous solution, resulting in frequent insert changes and production interruptions.
By adopting Tungaloy’s AddForceCut system with grade AH6235, which features a highly rigid self-clamping design and a wear-resistant, titanium-rich PVD coating optimized for stainless steel, tool life was greatly extended.
The number of parts machined per cutting edge increased from 30 to 70, representing an improvement of over 230% in tool life. This resulted in reduced downtime and a more stable, efficient machining process.
