IMPROVE TOOL LIFE

During parting-off operations of AISI 316 stainless steel arrow components on a Swiss lathe, the conventional tool provided insufficient tool life and frequent insert changes disrupted production efficiency.
By introducing Tungaloy's TungCut with the AH7025 grade, featuring a PVD coating and a super tough substrate for enhanced wear and chipping resistance in stainless steel applications, the process achieved a substantial boost in durability.
As a result, tool life improved dramatically, with the number of parts machined per cutting edge increasing from 100 to 300, representing a 300% increase compared to the previous tool. This significant improvement reduced both downtime and tooling costs for the customer.
